JOPLIN, MO.--- Watered Gardens Gospel Rescue Mission is hosting a 2 day community education seminar beginning tonight. It will feature workshops and presentations from 4 different speakers, delivering a message centered around gradually reducing dependency on welfare. Event organizers say they hope the event inspires change.

"Two and a half million dollars every month in food stamps for Jasper County alone is too much, shouldn't the church be doing more to feed people, and how do we replace some of that," states James Whitford, Executive Director Watered Gardens.

The seminar will be held at the Mills Anderson Justice Center on MSSU's campus. It will run from 7 until 10 tonight. Tomorrow's session begins with a breakfast at 7 them seminars from 8 a.m. until noon. There is no cost to attend but a $25 donation is suggested.
