JOPLIN, MO.--- Downstream Casino donated 57 pallets of food to Souls Harbor Food Pantry in Joplin. The food will be used to help the ministry provide food boxes to hundreds of people in the area. Souls Harbor representatives say the number of families needing help at their pantry is at an all time high.

"We're giving over 600 food boxes a month, which is triple than what it was even 3 to 4 years ago," says Joan Lewis, Director, Souls Harbor.

"The people that we meet, that work at these food banks, are really our heroes. They give up a lot of their time. We're just here one day, they're here everyday," says John Berrey, Chairman Downstream Development.

This is the 30th year Souls Harbor has offered their Food Box Program.
