Lafayette House Children Christmas Donation Need

By: Melanie Huonker
Updated: December 14, 2012
JOPLIN, MO.--- Lafayette House volunteers say in years past, Christmas donations filled multiple rooms. This year though, they're in need of children's gifts ,like toys for girls, babies, and toddlers. The organization serves about 150 families, including 25 women and their children who live at the house at any given time. Coordinators say they try to make Christmas day as special as they can for the children.

"Christmas morning is an amazing morning here at Lafayette House. It's difficult for these children anyway living in a shelter, let alone waking up Christmas morning in a shelter," states Amy Lane Development Coordinator.

If you would like to make a donation, you can drop off items at the Lafayette House in Joplin until Monday morning.
