NEOSHO -- Hundreds of people lined up inside a warehouse in Neosho as canned goods were distributed for the Newton County Food basket Brigade Saturday. The organization has been collecting for the past month, gathering enough food for more than a thousand people. This is the 25th year for the Food Basket Brigade. Organizers say it is a great way for people to give back during the holiday season.

"There are people out there that need food, and what a better way to help them than when the community gets together and does something like this," says volunteer Virginia MacKenzie. "It's very successful."

Additional food and money left over will be given to the Neosho Help Center to distribute to those in need next year.
