JOPLIN, MO.--- Frank Ikerd and his wife Dr. Valerie Ikerd celebrated the groundbreaking of a 10,000 square foot medical facility today. "Advanced Orthotics and Prosthetics" is being rebuilt at its former location on 26th street and Maiden Lane. It will be built with an insulated concrete wall offering people inside safety from 200 mile per hour winds, as well as helix steel that provides enough strength to resist movement.

"My wife and I are environmentally conscience and we wanted to put that into practice. We thought this was the perfect opportunity to do that and to make this a showcase for rebuild technology and what can be accomplished in the rebuilds both for businesses and for private homes as well," states Frank Ikerd, Owner.

The couple is also taking tree stumps that were lost during the tornado and making them part of the reception area.
