JASPER COUNTY, MO.--- Commissioner Jim Honey presented plaques to Gary Nelson and Richard Getty from the Highway Department today in recognition of their work. They are both retiring from the Highway Department. Nelson worked nearly 18 years and is leaving his current position as superintendent. Getty served more than 22 years and is retiring as an equipment operator. Nelson says it was special to be honored today.

"It's been real good, nice experience. I've really enjoyed it. I wish I could start over again," states Gary Nelson, Retiring Superintendent.

The commissioners also introduced the new superintendent Bob Burris. Rowdy Baugh will move up and fill Burris' spot as assistant superintendent.
