NOEL, MO.--- People from around the world mailed their cards to the small post office in Noel, Missouri. They average about 50,000 cards a year. In order to handle all the extra mail, they have 35 volunteers help postmark the cards. There is even a wait list to get on the stamping duty.

Organizers say the cards are down more than 50% this year due to higher postage and the economy. However, volunteers think it's amazing their little town is known around the world.

"I've always spread the word that this is the Christmas City, USA," states Bob Obenshain, Volunteer Stamper.

Some of the cards this year have come from Africa, Sweden, and Australia.
