JOPLIN, MO.--- Tonight, local Girl Scouts will hold a "Cookie Crunch Off Rally" to celebrate the start of their 2013 campaign. At the event, older scouts will teach younger ones about how to stay safe when selling cookies, and how to boost sales.

After that, several teams from community organizations, including a KSN team, will compete in a cookie eating competition. Girl Scouts Jasper County Service Unit Director and Troop Leader Jamie Keith, says the cookie campaign helps the girls learn valuable life skills.

"It teaches the girls life lessons, girls learn financial skills, they learn how to count back change, they learn how to budget," says Keith.

You can start pre-ordering the Girl Scout cookies today. Door-to-door and booth sales begin in February.
