Monday the service dog was located and returned to her owner.

JOPLIN -- Robin Zentner had a heart transplant four years ago, and needs help with some activities around the house. An eight-month-old Brindle Boxer was being trained to help her open doors, assist her in case she falls and bring her the phone if it rings. The pup was last seen on New Years Day at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, and there has been no sign of her since. Zentner says finding the dog could be a life or death situation for her.

"She would be able to tell change in blood pressure, heart rate. But it's important. My life could depend on when this dog is fully trained. My life could depend on this dog."

The dog does have a microchip. If you happen to see this dog, you can return it to the Joplin Animal Adoption and Resource Center or Lucky Paws Animal Training Center.

How did this dog get lost was it with a trainer? Did someone take it? Usually trained and or service dogs don't run away!
