JOPLIN, MO.--- U.S. Bank leaders presented $10,500 to the United Way of Southwest Missouri and Southeast Kansas. This amount adds to more than $12,000 bank employees plan to donate. United Way leaders say the donations will go a long way towards helping fund many community programs.
"The money goes to support programs at our 35 member agencies. We have 56 programs that focus on economic security, that focus on education, and focus on health," says Bev Crespino-Graham, Executive Director, United Way.
"United Way serves an absolutely essential function for our community in meeting the needs of multiple nonprofits," says Cifford Wert, U.S. Bank Region President.
This donation is just the latest example of a long standing partnership between the two organizations, in 2011 U.S. Bank earned the "Spirit of America Award" which is the highest honor given to a company by the United Way.
