Health Essentials in Joplin has a commercial grade breast pump that costs nearly $100,000. Breast-feeding advocates say the provision will help many mothers provide babies with optimal health.
"Breast milk has antibodies. It helps with kids so they don't have as many respiratory infections, ear infections. It's just the perfect food for a baby," states Cathy Brown, FHS Breast-feeding Coalition.
Insurance agents say the provision went into effect in August of 2012.
