PITTSBURG, KS---Residents won't see many changes to the way things currently work.  The city will keep the 5 trash service providers it has now, but residents will have to choose which company it wants.  If they don't, city leaders will mail them a letter reminding them to make a decision.  This issue became a hot topic, with residents speaking out worried some would lose their jobs.

"Who your trash hauler is in Pittsburg it turns out is very personal thing to a lot of people and as I look to improvements to the city as the city manager is solid waste collection.  How we can do a better job so this is how we look at get the community together and take a look at it," says Pittsburg City Manager Darron Hall.  Hall says the city could revisit this topic in 6 months to see if the plan is working or if changes need to be made.
