JOPLIN, MO.--- Able Manufacturing & Assembly employee, Susan Adams, was recently recognized with a "Women In Manufacturing Award." She is one of 122 people throughout the country to be honored.

The award is part of an initiative by the "Manufacturing Institute" to promote the role of women in what's considered to be a male dominated profession. Adams says she hopes her story encourages young women to enter into similar fields.

"I think the main focus of this award is to just publicize how many opportunities there are and to help make manufacturing a conscious career choice for women that are just leaving school," said Susan Adams, Able, Director of Human Resources.

Adams will travel to Washington D.C. in February to receive her award.
