JOPLIN, MO.--- Joplin residents will soon see their trash and sewer service now come in their own, separate bill compared to previous bills which were included in the Missouri American Water statement.

The City of Joplin is now handling billing for trash and sewer and has mailed the first notices. You can sign up for auto pay, or have the option of mailing or dropping off a check.

"If we have customers changing, if they move, if they're new in town, if they're leaving, they do not have to contact us. Once they contact the water company, we get that information from them," states Leslie Jones, Joplin Finance Director.

While there is no increase in cost associated with the billing change, customers can expect to see the annual service increase in this month's statement.
