JOPLIN, MO.--- Germs are impossible to avoid, but there are a few things you can do to make sure you don't get sick. Action 12's Drew Moore tells us a few surprising places where germs live in tonight's Freeman Medical Focus.

Freeman Health experts say germs on surfaces are all around us. Germs gather on everything from the ketchup and mustard bottle in a restaurant, to the handles of a grocery cart. Don't over look the desk at your office.

Hospital workers also say to hold off on handshakes and high five's during flu season. They say the best way to keep yourself from getting sick is to wash your hands with soap and water frequently.
