JOPLIN, MO.--- The American Red Cross of Southwest Missouri is still accepting nominations for their "Everyday Heroes" event. This is their 10th annual event that recognizes people's acts of kindness and heroism in the area. Red Cross leaders say they want to emphasize your definition of a hero.
"It may be the firefighter that saves a life. It may be the school teacher or the Sunday school teacher that gives extra time to influence somebody or help them be their best. So, we want to see what everybody's idea of an everyday hero is," said Alvin Boan, Board Chairman.
