JOPLIN, MO.--- Saint Peters Catholic Church in Joplin held a mid-day Mass for Ash Wednesday. After a brief sermon, worship leaders placed ashes on peoples foreheads. This is a traditional practice which marks the beginning of a 40-day preparation season observed by many Christians and Catholics.
