Missouri Proposes Teen Tanning Needing Parental Consent

By: Melanie Huonker
Updated: February 14, 2013
MISSOURI--- Missouri lawmakers are trying to prevent teens from using tanning beds without a parent's approval. The measure before the Missouri House would require people 17 years and younger to have permission from a parent before using a tanning bed.

A parent or guardian would have to go to a tanning salon every year and give written consent that he or she understands the warnings of tanning and allows their child to use the facility. A similar bill was introduced last year. A hearing on the bill has not yet been scheduled.
