MISSOURI--- A proposed Missouri Senate bill would raise the fine from $10 to $50 for people caught without a seat belt. U.S. Department of Transportation shows only 79% of people in Missouri wear their seat belt, the national average is 84%. This is the 4th year the bill has been proposed. The senator behind the bill hopes the higher fine encourages more people to buckle up.
