PITTSBURG, KS.--- 2 Pittsburg State University groups join forces to celebrate Black History Month. The Black Student Association teamed up with the Pittsburg State University's Art Association for a clay workshop.

Their sculptures are exhibited at Porter Hall this week. The goal is to bring students of all backgrounds together in an expressive setting. Dozens of students participated, making African American inspired clay sculptures.

"I saw people make things that they didn't think they could make, and so we're just building their confidence. Perhaps they left there and went and tried something else that they didn't think they could do," said Portico Bowman, PSU Gallery Director.

The exhibit will be open all week at Porter Hall on the PSU campus.
