MISSOURI.--- Missouri Governor Jay Nixon is working with Western Governors University to create W.G.U. Missouri. He says the online university is a good alternative for Missourians who are unable to continue their education on an existing campus. W.G.U. started in 1997 and offers 50 degree programs ranging from information technology and education to business and healthcare.
"Instead of paying tuition by the credit hour, students can take as much coursework as they want for a flat rate. And how quickly you earn your degree, depends on how quickly you master the subject matter," said Jay Nixon, Missouri Governor.
The state has received nearly $5 million in grant funding to help with start up costs.
