GIRARD, KS.--- Heartland Electric crews work to restore power for hundreds of customers. Nearly 400 homes in Crawford and Cherokee counties were without power at 7 this morning. Power has been restored to more than 100 of those buildings as of 4 this afternoon, that leaves about 300 still without electricity.
The outages were caused by snow weighing down power lines. Heartland crews have been out since 5 this morning to fix the problem. They hope to restore electricity to all customers by this evening.
