NOEL, MO.--- Volunteers at a new recycling center in Noel are working to protect the environment in McDonald County. The project is a joint effort between Southwest Sanitation and the City of Noel.

They're already receiving materials from county departments, the school district and several area grocery stores. Collectors have been going door to door, picking up recyclables in Southwest City with plans to soon do the same in other McDonald County towns.

"We started out with two containers in August, we've moved up to 27 right now. That's a savings of 1500 pounds a week that we're taking out of trash. Just on businesses right now," says Shannon Gravette, Southwest Sanitation.

The center is located at 801 South Kings Highway in Noel, where you can drop off your materials at any time.
