LAMAR, MO.--- In May, summer school is making a comeback in Lamar. The Lamar R-1 Board of Education approved summer school for the district.

The classes were dropped 3 years ago due to the uncertainty of finances. The high school principal says the 12 day session will offer both core and elective classes.

"For a student that is behind, this is a great opportunity. For a student that possibly wants to take a dual credit course, this is an opportunity for some more space in their schedule," said Jennifer Been, Lamar High School Principal.

Depending on how many snow days they have this year, classes will begin May 30th.
