JOPLIN, MO.--- The Alliance of Southwest Missouri invited members of the community into their facility today. They heard about how the organization helps with the health and safety of families in the area, as well as how they can get involved in their various programs.

Executive Director Kari Clements hopes those at the facility today will walk away with a better understanding of the importance of the Alliance's work. "We can have a positive impact on the health and safety of the children in southwest Missouri if we work together."

The executive director says they've been focusing most of their efforts in Jasper and Newton counties. They plan to expand more of their activities in McDonald County.
