JOPLIN, MO.--- The Joplin Recycling Center has done away with seasonal hour adjustments. The center will now remain open at the same times all year-round, instead of operating on seasonal hours.

Previously the recycling center extended hours during the spring and summer, to give people more time to recycle since there are more hours of daylight. City leaders hope switching to more uniform hours will be more convenient for recyclers and make better use of the facility.

"Not enough people really used the recycling center between 6 and 7, so we thought, let's just keep it 2 to 6 all year. It's easier to remember," said Mary Anne Phillps, Joplin Recycling Center Coordinator.

The recycling center will be open all year from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday, and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday all year.
