JOPLIN, MO.--- History is coming alive at Joplin South Middle School. Students are celebrating National History Day. Students had to do a project on "Turning Points in History."

The students had a variety of ways in which they could do the project. Some were written reports, some were dance performances, others created websites. The topics were all over the map.

"We have everything from the TET Offensive in the Vietnam War, Doppler Radar, Pea Ridge and the Civil War," said Ivan Obert, South Middle School, Social Studies Teacher.

The projects will be judged at Missouri Southern State University on Friday. The winner will then progress to a State History Day competition.
