JOPLIN, MO.--- With your help, Panera Bread in Joplin is helping kids in need keep full bellies through the weekend. Every 2nd Friday of each month, the restaurant will donate a portion of sales from featured menu items to Ozarks Food Harvest's "Weekend Backpack Program."

You can help donate when you order from the Salmon Meals or buy a cinnamon roll tomorrow. The program helps feed southwest Missouri children who depend on school lunches to feed them.

"A lot of children go home on Friday from school and they're not sure when they're going to eat next. By doing this, we can provide them with at least a couple of meals throughout the weekend until they get back to school on Monday," said Brittany Anderson, Panera Bread, Manager.

The program provides meals for almost 1,500 children on the free lunch program.
