The preliminary murder trial for a ten-year-old murder case ends today. Cherokee County Judge Bill Lylerla decides the case of the man accused of murdering 18-year-old Carol Sullens. After denying a motion by the defense to drop the case, Judge Lylera decided Donald Kidwell will be bound over for a trial by a jury. Prosecuting Attorney Joanna Derfelt says the victory today isn`t necessarily her own. Joanna Derfelt - Cherokee County Prosecuting Attorney "I think by the end of the case it wasn`t necessarily for me. I think its a victory for Carol`s family. Theyve been the ones that have been through all this and have talked to me about it so by the time judge made his ruling, I was more then pleased for them than for me." The date for Kidwell`s trial is expected to be set sometime within the next month.
