Investigators continue to run down leads in a bank robbery in Diamond. Police say an unknown suspect is still on the loose. The man robbed the Community Bank and Trust yesterday with what he claimed to be an explosive device. Upon further investigation the device was found to be a fake.
Ron Doerge - Newton Co. Sheriff
"What we think we have is very good fingerprints, he was not wearing gloves, and he gave the device, he said was an explosive device and set it on the counter."
The prints on a VHS video tape made to look like a bomb may help them catch the suspect. They are also releasing a computer generated drawing to the community as well. The man is described as a six foot two white male wearing faded denim clothing with a receding hairline. He is believed to be in his fifties. The FBI continues to follow the case and anyone with information is urged to contact their local law enforcement department.
