Grove Sludge Agreement

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
A Four State community has agreed to switch location where it dumps city sludge. The city of Grove, Oklahoma will no longer dump its waste at the sulphur bend site on Grand Lake near Fairland. Instead, the city reached an agreement to haul its waste to a site near Scammon, in Cherokee County Kansas. Residents near the dumpsite on Grand Lake were concerned about the possible contamination of their water supply, since most of their homes rely on ground wells. The Oklahoma Department of Environmental quality has been notified of the change in dumping locations.
