A Four State town is in financial trouble and city officials are considering drastic measures. In Quapaw, Oklahoma today the city council met for a special session. First the board members appointed a new mayor Tim Wilson. Wilson immediately decided pay cuts would be the only way to prevent the city`s budget from becoming overdrawn. And those cuts will come from the pockets of the city`s police officers. Quapaw Police Chief Dewayne Corbitt says he knows staying within the budget is important, but questions the council`s decision. The members will decide next if a one-cent sales tax increase will be voted on by the residents. The increase would add revenue to the city.
