Eakes In Trouble Again

An area resident once accused of murder is back in trouble with the law. 22-year-old Justin Eakes of rural Galena, Kansas was acquitted of murdering Gary Huffman Jr. Huffman was killed at a rural Cherokee County home in December 1999. Eakes has now been sentenced to 60-days in jail for probation violations from another charge. Eakes was arrested October 16th, after moving to Oklahoma, which is a violation of his probation. His probation was for an armed robbery charge in 1996. After serving 60-days in jail, Eakes will have another one year of probation for his latest violation.
