A man convicted of capital murder was sentenced to life in prison today. James Baughman claimed he had nothing to do with the deaths of a Pea Ridge couple, but a jury saw it differently. The panel convicted Baughman on Wednesday in the 1999 murder-for-hire deaths of Joanne Kneece and her ex-husband James Floyd Suggs. Baughman was convicted of capital murder in Kneece`s death and second-degree murder in Suggs` slaying. Rose Ellen Cushman was also charged in the case. Cushman pleaded guilty in August to two lesser charges of first-degree murder and agreed to testify against Baughman. She was sentenced to 40 years on each count.
