With temperatures expected to cool down outside, many residents will turn to natural gas to keep them warm inside. That`s why officials are warning residents to be on alert for the smell of natural gas. It`s a warning sign that your family could be in danger. Officials say if you do smell gas, never light a match or turn on the lights or appliances and don`t use the telephone. Also, do not search for the source of the leak. Instead leave the area immediately and call your natural gas company.
