Shooting Incident on Webb City

Police investigate a late night shooting at a local nightspot. The incident happened just after 11:00pm Thursday night at the Depo Bar and Grill in Webb City. Officers were attempting to arrest 51-year-old John Griffen on a warrant from Taney County. Investigators say after struggling with officers, Griffen shot himself in the throat with a small caliber handgun he had hidden inside his coat. Griffen is being treated at a Joplin area hospital. Officers continue to investigate circumstances surrounding the shooting.
