Insurance Rate on the Rise

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
Oklahomans will pay more for insurance next year. That`s in part because of the September 11th terrorist attacks. Insurance companies are passing along their expenses because of the huge losses they suffered from the attacks. The increases will come for everything from homeowners` to aviation coverage. The Allstate the Allstate Corporation, the state`s third-largest homeowner carrier, is asking for an across-the-board 48% rate increase in Oklahoma homeowner premiums. Allstate customers pay an average of $590 annually in Oklahoma. With a 48% premium increase, that average would rise to more than $870.
