Updated: January 7, 2009
The cooking and baking has begun at the Salvation Army in Joplin. Cooks and volunteers are hard at work getting ready for the over 300 people expected to come to shelter for a free Thanksgiving meal. Over 30 turkeys are expected to be stuffed and served. All the food used for the dinner was generously donated from four state residents to help families have a happy Thanksgiving. Dinner will be served from noon until 1:30 tomorrow. The Salvation Army of Joplin is located at 320 East 8th Street. Everyone is welcome to attend this free dinner.
