A Southwest Missouri couple faces drug charges in connection with a shooting in Newton County. Investigators believe 28-year-old William Hillegus and 25-yea-old Brenda Poe were making meth out of a home on Eland Road. Deputies were called to the property yesterday for a shooting. Newton County Authorities say Brenda Poe`s father, Dickie Poe was shot in the hand. Although drug charges have been filed, no charges have been filed yet in connection with the shooting, deputies say Hillegus and the victim had been arguing sometime before the shooting but they don`t know yet if that act was intentional or accidental. The victim is listed in good condition at Freeman Hospital.
