With winter weather continuing to knock on the door in the Four States, local police departments want you to be safe while on area roads. Among the necessary precautions, the Joplin Police Department advise drivers to keep extra distance between cars. Allow more time to get to your destinations. Clean all windows, mirrors and vehicle lights. If weather becomes especially threatening, Sergeant Jensen says the department will institute their Emergency Response Plan. Asking motorists to simply exchange insurance information for non-injury accidents to ensure speedy response time for officers.
