The $70-million Question

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
City council is in session tonight to decide whether a property tax hike will be put on the November ballot. The fate of $70-million question could be decided at tonight`s Joplin City Council meeting. In a special session last week the Joplin Citizen`s Task Force and city council members decided they wanted to put the money into five components around the city. The proposed projects would be funded under a five-eights cent sales tax levy. The ballot decision isn`t final but they could make it official at tonights meeting. This would give workers enough time to file the issue before the deadline of the November election. KSN``s Courtney Cullor is at tonight meeting and will bring you this decision tonight at 10:00pm.
