Updated: January 7, 2009
An agency that lends a helping hand to others is itself in need of help this holiday season. Officials at the Carthage Salvation Army say toys are needed to help the agency conduct its Christmas Toyshop Program. Bryan Crampton - Carthage Salvation Army "Parents come in and we`ll have either a staff member or a volunteer go with them to go through what`s called our toy shop and its an opportunity for them to actually pick out a gift for their child, it gives them a more personnel touch with the opportunity to receive assistance during the Christmas season." Crampton says there is also an increased need for food donations this year. For more information, contact the Carthage Salvation Army at (417)358-2262.
