Updated: January 7, 2009
Investigators identify the body of a man found murdered in the back of a burning van. For several days investigators have been working to positively identify the body found on Indian land. This morning identification was made possible thru dental records. The body of Daniel Gildea of Southwest Missouri was discovered Saturday afternoon after firefighters put out a blaze engulfing his van. His is a member of a federally recognized Indian Tribe, which means the investigation now lies in the hands of the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Officers say now with a positive identification they narrow the investigation even more.
