Pierce City Sheriff Named

A new police chief has been named for Pierce City. Mike Abramovitz has been named as the new chief to replace Jim Dacy. Abramovitz has served on the Pierce City Police Department for six and a half years. The sergeant received the promotion after a city council met to discuss the matter. E this month, former chief Jim Dacy died after a gun mis-fired as he reached for the weapon. The new chief reports to work this afternoon.
