Missouri's Economic Development

The Missouri unemployment numbers are out and Missouris jobless rate continues to rise. The overall rate for Joplin has risen seven-tenths of a percent, going from 3.5% in 2000 to 4.1% in November of this year. The unemployment rates have also increased for both Newton and Jasper Counties. For the state of Missouri as a whole, the rate has risen 1.1%. It`s estimated that 34,000 more Missourians are unemployed this year than last.
