Man Faces Charges After Hostage Incident

A Four State man faces charges after holding two women and a child hostage over night. The domestic situation ended peacefully but not with out injury. One woman remains hospitalized suffering from head injuries and the suspect in the case remains behind bars. Officers say Augusta Saba held two women and a toddler hostage at a home near Carthage in Jasper County. After arriving at the scene Jasper County sheriff`s deputies heard gun shots from within the home. The woman remains in stable condition tonight at an area hospital. Saba, the man accused of holding the women hostage now faces charges of assault, unlawful use of a weapon, armed criminal action and burglary. He is being held on $75,000 bond.
