Landis Decides Against Running Again

A local city council member decides not to seek re-election after a domestic dispute. Joplin Mayor Pro Tem Bobby Landis was arrested New Year`s Day following an argument with his girlfriend. Landis was taken to the Joplin City Jail and held briefly until his release. After an investigation, prosecutors decided not to file charges against Landis. Landis was elected to the Joplin City Council in 1998, and elected by the council to serve as mayor pro tem in 2000.
