Testimony is under way again today in the first-degree murder trial of Bobby Lingle. The Joplin man is accused of helping to kill a pregnant Springfield woman and her three children in 1999. The case is being heard in St. Louis County on a change of venue. Prosecutors have called several witnesses, largely to piece together the timeline of the murders and Lingle`s whereabouts before and after. Yesterday, Lingle`s attorney said he doesn`t have the mental capacity to be guilty of premeditated murder. Prosecutors say Lingle`s motive was to help his friend, Richard DeLong, and in exchange for that help, to receive $250 worth of methamphetamine.
