Cagle Stepping Down

A local child advocacy agency will soon be under new management. Dr. Betty Cagle was the only employee of the Children`s Center of Southwest Missouri when it opened in 1997. After five years at the helm, Cagle is stepping down. She feels her greatest accomplishment has been to help provide children with a place to go that minimizes their trauma. Under Cagle`s leadership, the Children`s Center has expanded from about 700 square feet to nearly 5,500 square feet. The agency now employs nine. The center`s other executive director, Dr. Sherry Buchanan, is also stepping down soon. Cagle says the board of directors hopes to name a full time replacement in the next few weeks.
