Colcord Remains Under Boil Order

Updated: January 7, 2009
Oklahoma residents remain under a boil order until water is tested for bacteria. Earlier in the week, running water was shut off from the town of Colcord because workers were busy repairing rusty pipes linked to the town`s water tower. For days, residents have had to line up at the fire station, as officials handed out three gallons of drinking water per person. A tanker was also brought-in to fill containers for livestock. DEQ officials say it took at least 24 hours to fill the water tower. And it will now take 24 hours to determine if the water has bacteria.
